PPATK Commanded to Investigate Fund Flow of Bantar Gebang Landfill Management

Jakarta Provincial Government is going to command the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (PPATK) investigating fund flow from Bantar Gebang Landfill, Bekasi, PT Godang Tua Jaya (GTJ).

"I've asked City Secretary to ask PPATK investigating fund flow from PT Godang Tua, I just want to know the money is used for what," said Jakarta Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama, during executive meeting in City Hall, Monday (10/26).

According to him, such fund that is from the city administration is actually for processing and transporting trash or tipping fee each year amounting to Rp 400 billion. But until now, there are some trucks blocked when they want to dispose trash to Bantar Gebang.

"In accordance with our agreement, PT Godang Tua Jaya should use tipping fee money from us for investment. If our trucks are still blocked, it must involve thugs. I know they ask for help from Satpol PP, police and army," he asserted.

He is going to stop contract with PT Godang Tua Jaya because they have violated the rules, that having previously sent first warning letter.

"I already know, there is uneven distribution of tipping fee money from us in PT Godang Tua Jaya. I had commanded Cleanliness Department to send them warning letter, but it not done yet," he stated.

He also questioned the attitude of one member of Bekasi City Councils (DPRD) never criticize PT Godang Tua Jaya's performance regarding trash quality management in Bantar Gebang.

He added if the contract is stopped, Jakarta government will give tipping fee money to Bekasi City Government. The money must be used for infrastructure and flood mitigation program and congestion.

"Including park and house for Bekasi residents," he stated.
